Obsession Night
“Amanda you smell so nice!” I hear as I sit down for dinner with some of my longest friends. How do I take that? Is it a compliment or an insult? I’ve known these girls for almost 10 years and never have they told me that they like the way I smell. So, I spent the rest of the dinner wondering. I’ve worn the same perfume for as long as I can remember so testing Obsession Night felt like wearing an outfit for the first time.
Don’t compare this with Calvin Klein’s previous release Obsession. This fragrance is refreshingly modern and intense. The spicy vanilla and citrus blend really stands out for me – there’s not much of a floral fragrance here which in my opinion doesn’t make it suitable for day wear. It’s very sexy, makes me feel like I should be wearing kohl liner, an LBD and making bedroom eyes at the man across the room.
The only downside I found is that the fragrance doesn’t linger for long which makes it necessary to reapply it every few hours. That said, the compact sized bottle along with the secure lid makes it able to fit into any clutch or handbag.
As the name suggests this perfume is perfect for a night out on the town and if you’re after a scent that screams young, sophisticated and sexy, Obsession Night is definitely for you.

Vera Wang PrincessVera Wang
Princess

This delicately designed heart shaped bottle screams “princess” with its jewelled crown lid and matching jewelled ring. Certainly no expense has been spared on the presentation of this sweet scented fragrance.
After a few sprays on my neck and wrists a sweet, light aroma with a hint of floral enveloped me… seriously yummy! This addictive lilac fragrance is almost good enough to eat!
I really loved the fragrance but the real test would be what my partner thought! I was pleasantly surprised to find that he a) even noticed I was wearing a different perfume but b) completely loved it as well! My partner’s comment was you smell like a field of daises and fairy floss and he proceeded to cuddle up to my neck all night to get a whiff of the princess potion.
While the bottle is small in size, and measure for measure probably not as good value as some of the competition, I would definitely be putting this little beauty on my gift wish list. Durability wise it lasted all day but I did reapply towards mid afternoon to strengthen the scent. Retailing between $52-$68 this little gem of a perfume is certainly one to remember. Vera Wang Princess is a divine scented perfume suitable for any wannabe princess!

CK IN2UCK
IN2U

At first glance my impression of this perfume and its packaging is; trendy, sporty and a little quirky. Showcasing a mini soda bottle design with a matte white finish and an inverted glass base some might say it’s also a little retro on first sighting. If I was to spot this on the perfume mile in David Jones or Myer I probably wouldn’t be tempted to pick it out of the line up and have a try but now that I have I’m hooked.
The top notes of CK IN2U seem a little toned down and don’t give you much of an idea of the true nature of the perfume that lies within, but once it does escape the hot little bottle there’s no denying it’s a uniquely enchanting scent.
This perfume has many contributors which make up the final aroma but the most distinct of these contributors are the lime and citrus elements which give the fragrance an edge that lingers. Under the citrus, a slight hint of musk
also makes its presence known. Although this fragrance is all that a fragrance should be and more in looks and smell, it does lack longevity of wear with reapplication
essential to hold on to the most powerful element of the scent. However on saying this, it’s worth the reapplication because with just one whiff of this fun fragrance you’re transported and it takes you back to a little piece of summer, it’s a slow summer Sunday with warm rays of sunshine and a sultry summer breeze.

Badgley MischkaBadgley Mischka
Badgley Mischka

I had heard about the famous designs by Badgley Mischka and now a fragrance, I was quite naturally eager to sample this new designer scent! The soft peachy coloured embossed floral box with a silver trim had me intrigued. And, not surprisingly after one spray I discovered that this is the floral elixir for enchanted glamour. An intoxicating blend of jasmine, amber, patchouli and musks with a hint of spice took me to a place, where sweet memories lingered in the fine mist.
Subtle and sensually alluring, this fragrance elegantly housed in a diamond cut decanter invokes a luxurious touch.
Interestingly, when our editor asked me if I wanted to review a perfume, she handed me Badgely Mischka and said that it was truly my kind of perfume. And it was!
When you first apply is, the scent it is quite strong, but after you allow it to settle, it’s beautiful and it lasts all day, unlike many other perfumes I’ve tried. I had friends ask what perfume I was wearing early evening after having applied only once in the morning before I dashed out the door for work! They all loved it and I have to say I do as well. A friend even suggested that its musky undertone stimulates endorphins in the brain triggering good feelings, if you get my drift…

Michael KorsMichael Kors
Michael Kors

I’ve been wearing this delicious fragrance for about a year and a half now. Not many people know about it, but as absolutely every time you spray it on, people will compliment you on it, ask you what it is and where they can buy some – NOW. So, I thought it time all of you Our Manly lovers hear about this one-in-a-million fragrance.
The base scent of this sexy and inviting scent is tuberose, but don’t think you’re in for a flower power fragrance party, believe me, the response you get when you put this one on, will be all the evidence that you need.
Not only is the scent deep and distinctive, but it lasts for what feels like forever. There is no need to layer this one – I did and from a few metres away people could still smell me. But I found that even if you could smell it, it never became overpowering or sickening. I just found myself wanting to swim in a whole vat of the stuff.
There’s no end to the layers in this scent, tuberose, which I’ve already mentioned, and initially it’s all freesia, but depending on where you apply it and your temperature elements of tamarind, musk and vetiver add to the Michael Kors’ allure
It’s expensive, for a fragrance, but you don’t have to over-apply this one, ad I promise it will be worth every single cent.
